Payment Practices Barometer Hong Kong
International survey of B2B payment behaviour

Executive summary conclusions
Hong Kong’s role as a trans-shipment hub in a dynamic intra-Asian trade market exerted a palpable impact on some of the trends in this report. This was illustrated vividly when the companies in the survey indicated that as many as five determinants were exerting an almost identical influence over their setting of payments terms. The very tight proximity of these rankings – and the lesser weighting given to the traditional importance of long-term relationships by several business sectors – indicated that Hong Kong businesses have become adroit at balancing their company policy with a range of external factors when deciding how they wish to do business.
